Hey, y'all, my name is Kona, and I come to you from Mississippi, where I was found as a stray dragging my back legs. They thought I had been hit by a car, but with no broken bones, that probably isn't likely. I'm just a puppy, and I still have plenty of energy, but I don't move too fast unless I'm in my super cool wheel chair when I'm outside! Then I can zoom everywhere and have all the fun with other doggos or the kiddos that might be in my new family! I'm also good with cats, partly because I'm pretty darn great, partly because I'm slow inside. Right now, I'm just 22 pounds, so I won't be a super big guy when I'm full grown. My foster mom and my vets can't quite tell right now if I can tell when I have to go potty or not, so I wear belly bands or diapers. This is going to be super great for my new family because then you don't have to take me out when it's super cold or rainy! Win, win, I'd say! Oh, also, foster mom lets me free roam in the house while she is gone, because so far I've been a really good boy and haven't wrecked anything in the house.
I'm a sweet little guy who loves attention, and I'm just like any other dog, just with some special abilities! I enjoy getting attention, and I'll play with humans or dogs. Since I've been in my foster home, I've been getting stronger, and I try to use my back legs sometimes, since I take pain meds now (and could probably need them for the long haul). Now I just need to find my forever family who will continue to work with me on gaining even more strength and maybe I can take my very first steps on my back legs with them! Now, its not a guarantee that I'll ever walk, but wouldn't that be such a wonderful experience? I hope YOU are the one I get to show that I'm a strong fighter and will push through to be my best for you!

Albert's Dog Lounge is a foster-based rescue providing compassionate care to special needs, senior, and hospice dogs.
Our adoption process begins with a completed application. From there, we will review references and vet records. The next step is a home visit with your family. This visit may be in person or virtual. At that point, if approved, we will set up a meet and greet with available dogs.
All dogs have an adoption fee of $275 for a single dog or $500 for (bonded) pair, unless otherwise noted.
Note: Pairs must be adopted at the same time to get the reduced adoption fee.
-Applications with incomplete information will not be processed.
- All current dogs in the home must be spayed or neutered, up to date on rabies vaccination, up to date on DHLPP, up to date on Heartworm testing and preventative.
- All cats in the home must be spayed or neutered and up to date on a rabies vaccination or wellness exam.
- None of our dogs will be adopted to prospective owners who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on the adoption application and/or the adoption contract. Albert's Dog Lounge reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone.
- You must agree that if you are no longer able to keep your rescue dog for whatever reason, the dog will be returned to Albert's Dog Lounge. The adopter must agree to never attempt to sell or rehome the dog at any point.
