Fauna is an amazing girl! She was rescued from the pound and nursed back to health when she had a bad upper respiratory infection. She has so much personality and she is a ball of love. She loves people more than anything and she's looking for a best friend.
She is good with dogs, but she has a semi-alpha personality and likes very slow and proper introductions. She is a bit of a humper but she has played with other dogs. She plays like a Boxer and has an energetic play style. They have to be the right fit. She would be fine as an only dog.
She would love a person that will take her for long walks. She is playful and sweet and happy to meet everyone that passes by. She is incredibly affectionate and loves to snuggle. She will definitely watch movies with you. She is housebroken and crate trained and she'll bark to let you know she needs to go outside to potty.
She loves a routine and consistency, but mainly she loves people. She is non-destructive when left loose in the house while you’re gone, but we recommend crating her if you're going to be gone for long to reinforce her potty training. She doesn't love her crate, but she'll go in it. Sometimes, she likes to be bribed with a little treat to go in. She has a kong crate. She likes her toys and enjoys having them in her crate if she is left in one. She'll play quietly with her toys on her bed while you're working also.
She pulls on the leash but walks great with a prong collar.

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.
