Leo is currently looking for a foster! Please inquire at https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/fosterapplication
Woof, friends! I'm Leo, a sweet and resilient young 50lb mutt with a story to tell!
I started my journey at Tehama Co Animal Services, where things were a bit ruff. You see, I was kenneled with too many pals in a tiny space (four dogs to be precise), and it wasn't the friendliest place. Back at the shelter, I was a bit shy and spent most of my time hiding in the back corner. Can you blame me? It was very overwhelming and unfortunately, I got beat up.
Due to overcrowding and my kennel stress, the shelter was planning to say goodbye to me way too soon. But guess what? Some amazing humans came to my rescue just in time!
I do best with slow intros and friendly dogs and have lived in a foster home with two other canine buddies. However, I think I would prefer to be the only king of the castle! My gentle personality is starting to shine, and I've discovered this incredible thing called cuddling. I absolutely LOVE it, and I'm eager to find a special someone to share my snuggles with!
My foster parents say I'm one of the best snugglers ever – their words, not mine, but I'm not one to argue! I've got this amazing potential to keep blossoming into the best dog ever. So, if you're looking for a furry friend to share your heart and home, I'm here!
Leo is looking for a committed forever home — he would do best as solo pet in a calm adult home. He would love a yard in a quieter neighborhood and in return, he will be your BFF for life! Leo already has a solid training foundation.
Leo is currently located in DAVIS, CA.
Estimated DOB: 4/25/2023
Interested in adopting?
1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application
2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call!
3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home
Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time.
