My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our very pretty and petite girl named Sunshine! Sunshine is about 1 year old, and she came to us after a kind citizen took in Sunshine and her litter of young kittens from outside. All of Sunshine's kittens have since been adopted, and now Sunshine is looking for her forever family! Sunshine is very playful and she loves catnip! She is a good eater and loves to get attention!

When Sunshine first came in, she did have some fluid in her abdomen. This was sent out for an FIP test which came back negative. She is also negative for FIV/FLuek. The fluid did come back a bit after a week or so. Our vets cannot give us an exact answer at this time as to why this happens. Sunshine is currently on a small steroid pill, Prednisolone, every other day. This has allowed her to thrive and the fluid has not returned since starting the pills! These are very inexpensive pills that Sunshine takes easily in canned food. On Chewy, these pills can be order for about $2.00 a month. We are waiving Sunshine's adoption fee for an adopter who is willing to take Sunshine on knowing she may need this medication permanently.
Sunshine isn't a huge fan of other animals. She hisses at other cats and they seem to make her uncomfortable. At this time, we would like to find a home for her without other dogs or cats. Sunshine has a ton of love to give and would make a great companion for a family!
If you are interested in adopting Sunshine, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application!

You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.
Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal.

An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments.

ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
