Hi! I’m Bacardi, but my friends and family call me “Cardi”. Are you looking for the bestest Great Dane in all the land? If so, I’m your girl! I am one happy girl that will show my adoptive mum and poppa the wiggliest of wiggle butts imaginable. In fact, my wiggle butt was SO wiggly that I gave myself a case of ‘happy tail’ and that is why my tail is so short now. But, I don’t let that stop the wiggliness.
My foster family tells me I am something called a unicorn because I get along with everyone. I haven’t met a person, child, dog or cat that I don’t love. I especially like little humans because they are at eye level and I can see all their snacks…and sometimes make their snacks my snacks! Yum!! But, sometimes I don’t know my own size and in my excitement can knock little humans over. (I don’t mean to, I just am so excited to see everyone) I also love to romp and play with my foster sister and walk and play with my foster parents followed by long and deep rests on comfy couches and dog beds. I am told that other Danes may want to chase those kitties, but I don’t have time for that. I would much rather ignore them and get attention from my family.
The MAGDRL folks tell me I am 7 years old, but I don’t let that slow me down. I came into rescue underweight at about 105 lbs and my foster parents are trying to bulk me up a bit. Since I am so hungry all that time, I sometimes will see yummies on the counter and just help myself. Foster momma says I shouldn’t do that and I am getting better about not counter surfing, but they make such yummy treats!
I would love a forever home that has another pup for me to play and lounge with. Sometimes I can play rough so hopefully my new sibling can hang with me. But, if you don’t have another pup for me to play with never fear, I will be your best friend. I can get attached to my humans very quickly and I will follow you everywhere. I am ok in the crate and will sometimes go in there on my own to get some naps, but I am also trustworthy in the house by myself as long as those counters are clear.
