Badaboom is a simple, sweet old lady who appreciates the simple pleasures in life.

She loves loves loves being pet and puts her whole body into the pets, leaning in with all her might to get the best pet every time. She loves face and backend scritches. She will sit patiently in front of you, facing away, so you can give her great back scritches. When it’s been a while since she’s seen you, she sweetly chirps a handful of times to express her affection and excitement to see you. She crawls out of her cozy nook, stretches, chirps, and gets herself ready for pets. Occasionally she gets so excited, her little body vibrates. And most times, she rolls on her back to flirt with you and let you know she wants all the pets you have time for. She is happy to leap up to reach a hand for pets.

Overall, she’s very low energy. She prefers to sleep most of the time, preferably in a dark and cozy nook or comfy arm chair where she can keep an eye on her surroundings. Occasionally she will take a nap on the cat perch that is set up on the warm, sunny window. We have a heating pad that we turn on for her a few times a day, and she seems to really enjoy its warmth, always sleeping on an adjacent blanket so the heat can reach her second handedly.

Badaboom is adjusting to her new life, so general caution and empathy should be given to gain her trust. She doesn’t love being picked up, so let that woman stay on the ground where she has gained the right to be with her 8 years. If you do pick her up, she either accepts her fate or tries to get out. But shes always a lady with manners and doesn’t try to bite or scratch you. While petting, she doesn`t like surprises, like if it seems you’re thinking about picking her up, she will leap away and give you a fully offended look. So far, Badaboom has not been interested in sitting in our laps, she has set boundaries and is learning adaptability as she goes. But she loves to be around us and will take attention and pets any chance she can get!

Badaboom is neutral with the two small dogs in her foster home. Even when they chase her, she just finds a safe soace where she can retreat. She never hisses or retaliates, because a proper woman would never! She lived with her cat sister, Moka, for many years which makes me inclined to say
