My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I'm Louie Louie! I've got a heart as big as my personality. I'm a sweet and friendly chap who loves to make everyone laugh with my goofy antics. Playtime is my favorite time, and I'm always up for a game of fetch or tug-of-war. I'm also quite the smarty pants. I learn new tricks quickly, and I'm always eager to show off my skills. But don't let my energetic nature fool you. I'm also incredibly loyal and will stick by your side through thick and thin. I'm just looking for a forever home where I can share all the love and laughter I have to offer. So, why should you adopt me? Well, if you're looking for a loyal companion who will keep you entertained and love you unconditionally, then I'm your guy!

Note from Louie Louie's rescuer: Louie Louie wandered up to our kennels in TN on a bleak drizzly day. He was pretty skinny and very dejected. He came to us with no hesitation and was very relieved to be safe, fed and taken care of again. We're sure he was somebody's dog and they dumped him out at our kennels. It's incomprehensible how cruel people can be, but they can definitely take the cake with their heartless actions. was probably the best day of Louie's life because now he can find a family who will truly love and appreciate him just as he is! He's probably about a year old and weighs about 50 pounds or so. He's a strong fellow and will need some leash work with a gentle leader to be his best hiking self.

Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pup’s with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event!

The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested negative for heartworms.

If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email
