Description: Meet Laurel via YouTube! Simply copy/paste this link: https://youtu.be/NeQAsvVx_D4
Laurel has a sweet nature that is hidden behind her self-preservation instincts. Yes, she is a shy kitty who may never be a lap cat, but she is curious about her human companions and their strange (non-cat-like) habits. She watches from up high or in a cubby hole, taking it all in with her amazing, intelligent eyes. She will push beyond her self-imposed boundaries for a Churu treat, though! Offer one gently to her and she will slowly stretch her nose out for a sniff and lick, then cautiously step one paw forward, and then the other. Soon she is halfway out of her cubby and ravenously enjoying the treat. In these moments, you can see the kitty she wants to be. In her time with me, she has re-learned how to play with toys, is learning how to enjoy human touch (she has purred and made biscuits for me!), and to trust that people will be good to her. I suspect her time outside has made her wary of what could happen next, but those memories can be wiped clean with time, patience, and a lot of love. She is friendly with other kitties, does not flinch when dogs bark, and tolerates young kids (but may hide when they're running around). You know those heartwarming stories of a cat who just needs love to be who they were meant to be and a year later, they are their human's best friend? That's Laurel. Are you willing to be the one to make her story a dream-come-true?
