4 years | Neutered | 50-55 lbs | Housebroken

Dexter's owners lost their home and had to move into an apartment where pets were not allowed. He's missing his family but is still very sweet. He gets along with other dogs but is an alpha male; he is housebroken. Currently in foster in Mississippi in a country setting with other dogs. Dexter is up to date with his shots, and neutered. He is being treated for heartworm but is otherwise a healthy 4-year old. He walks well on leash. Dexter will need access to a yard or fenced in area.

Adoption Fee includes all age-appropriate shots, deworming, spay/neuter certificate (if too young to be fixed) and microchip, dog food, leash and collar.

Additional adoption info

Potential adopters must fill out an adoption application to be considered. All information about an adoptable pet can be found in their profile description, which is updated regularly. We can only respond to applicants that are considered a good match for a particular pet. Response time is approximately 1-5 days. Once you are contacted, we will move forward with the adoption process; this may include a phone interview, home visit and vet/personal references check.

Our rescued animals are placed in foster homes in the New York and Northern New Jersey areas. Our animals are also boarded in veterinary hospitals in the South until we can transport them to our NJ locations. We also have rescue partners in Canada.

Paws on the Green, Inc. rescues animals on death row in local and rural shelters in the South. We are a New Jersey non-profit animal welfare organization that promotes the adoption of homeless animals regardless of age, breed or health condition. We strive to take the ones that other rescues and adopters leave behind either because the pet is a senior, has a health condition or has a disability.
