My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there, I'm Julia - the queen of cuddles and the ambassador of tail wags! Life as a 2-year-old is pretty pawsome, but it would be even better with a forever family to call my own. I may look strong on the outside, but inside, I'm just a sweet, loving girl with a heart that's bursting with affection. Let me tell you a little secret - I've mastered the art of puppy eyes. When I gaze up at you with those big, soulful eyes, it's impossible to resist giving me extra treats and belly rubs. Yup, I've got charm for days! I adore the simple joys of life - long walks where I can sniff all the fascinating scents, belly rub sessions that last for hours, and, of course, playtime! Toys, balls, frisbees - you name it, and I'm ready to have a blast. I'm a playful spirit, and I'm convinced that a day without laughter is a day wasted. If you're looking for a sidekick who's always up for an adventure, count me in. I'm not just a dog; I'm a loyal companion ready to stand by your side through thick and thin. We can conquer the world together, one paw at a time. So, what do you say? Ready to invite a loving, sweet Pittie named Julia into your heart and home? I promise a lifetime of tail wags, unconditional love, and a companionship that will make every day brighter. Let's embark on this journey together!

From our humble beginning in 1951, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society has grown to meet the needs of homeless dogs and cats. Since moving to our state-of-the-art facility at 1300 West Conway in Harbor Springs, Michigan, in 2001, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society has sterilized more than 10,000 animals owned by community members and has placed more than 5,000 animals into loving homes.

In addition to being an adoption center, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society offers a variety of proactive programs to help shelter animals become adoptable companions including the “Pit Stop Program,” the “Ruff-to-Ready Scholarship Program,” “Spay-it-Fourward,” the “Animals Need to Give Everybody Love (ANGEL) Program,” boarding, grooming, daycare, and a full-service veterinary clinic.
