Please meet Pamela, a 2 years young Bulldog/ Beagle cross. She is a small but solid dog weighing in at 16kgs. Pam is the inspiration for the saying that great things come in small packages. She is such a sweet and beautiful soul!

Pam came into our rescue as a puppy mill mom. We are so glad she is here, as she deserves a furever home to call her own. This love of a dog loves to snuggle and be with her humans. She wants nothing but to love and be loved. Pam is content to lie on the couch next to you or in your lap for snuggles. However, if you are busy, she is also happy to play on her own with chew toys or have a wee nap on the couch. She wants to be part of the action with her family.

As a mill dog, Pam was not treated very well so she is shy and nervous when first meeting new people. Her adopters need to understand this and be willing to work on positive experiences and gentle correction so she can grow up to be a confident lady. Her foster mom is working on her confidence, and she is improving each week. Once she gets to know people, she is a totally different dog.

Pam gets along well with her foster dog brother and loves to initiate games of chase around the back yard or to snuggle in with him. She would also be content to be the only dog in the household too. To this girl, human interaction is the best! If her forever home has another dog it in, it should be a male dog that is tolerant of sibling dog that wants in on everything – especially when it comes to pets and bum scratches.

Pam is crate trained and has learned that the crate is a great place to be. She will occasionally give a few whines or grumbles if she feels she should not be in her crate but quickly resigns herself to the situation. In foster care, her family has only heard her bark twice (both times her foster brother started the fun) so she would be ideal for apartment, condo, or house. Though, Pam would definitely prefer a yard or access to a fenced in area so she can run around and sniff out what has happened since she was last there. When running in the yard, Pam puts in the cutest Tigger “boings” to her gait – she is just so joyful to be outside!

This sweet girl is good in the car and travels well. She is being walked twice a day for about 20 to 25 minutes, which is perfect for her current fitness level but that also includes yard play and fun. She will need longer walks if she doesn’t have access to a fully fenced yard to run around. Afterwards she loves a good nap on the couch (she LOVES the couch). Since mill dogs are flight risks and are very shy, we are looking for a family that has children 8 years of age or older.

Anyone interested in Pamela needs to think ahead to the holiday season…are you travelling? Having large gatherings at your home? Then sadly this won’t be an ideal time to be bringing a new dog into the home. But if you have a travel free holiday season and will be mostly be spending quiet days and nights at home, then this would be a great time to introduce a new dog into the home. All new dogs need consistency and routine in the weeks and months following an adoption so we have to ask all our applicants to think ahead as to what the holidays realistically will look like before submitting an application for this girl.

Pam does have a high prey drive so cannot go to a home with a cat or small animals. She will, however, protect your yard from any invading squirrels and bunnies!

If you are looking for a loving, sweet and easy-going furry family member, Pam is your dog!
