My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

* ABOUT ZIGGY *

Ziggy is a 14 lbs neutered male. He is 10 years old but don't let that age fool you - he is an active fella.

Ziggy has recently undergone a full blood panel & a dental so he is in good health! He has all his important shots & has been dewormed.

Fall in love with this 14 lb teddy bear with his huge brown eyes & cheerful demeanor.

Ziggy's fave activities include sleeping in his donut bed beside his foster mom while she works on the computer. Ziggy loves squeaky toys,lick mats & snuffle mats. If he goes into another room & then comes back, he greets his foster mom with joyful wiggles of his tushy. Ziggy is pretty irresistible.

Ziggy has been returned twice for what we were told was dog reactivity. He's been back with us for the last three weeks and has been great! He does not like birds flying around the house (his current foster has birds). He's been fine with three other dogs but we have been told he's had fights with the other resident dog from his last home (we have not seen anything aggressive). He does have leash reactivity...so due to age and size that is easy to handle. We do not have any personal experience with the behaviors we've been told about so we are assuming either overstimulation and just not good matches.

* ABOUT YOU *

What is Ziggy looking for in his new human?
- fenced yard with room for him to roam and get exercise
- you are a cat-free home
- ideally Ziggy would be the only pet
- any children are over the age of 12 years

We feel he'd be ideal for a retired person or couple that do not take their dog everywhere with them. He's small but can be reactive in public when around dogs (Overstimulation most likely). Also we think was recourse guarding the foster from her other dog. He's great with people, great in the house...just not out in public with lots of stimulation ...so a nice safe, quiet home would be perfect for him!!

Additional adoption info

Our process starts with a person finding a dog they are interested in and filling out an application on our website.. Once approved we will work with you to find the dog of your choice or set up a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in. We will work hard to get the right fit with your family and set you up for success! Once you have found the dog we then can either foster with potential to adopt or just adopt depending on the situation. No pet is final adopted until they are fixed. Our requirements are over 21, and have a legitimate income. We evaluate each family and dog based on their individual situations so please don't be afraid to talk to us..

Go meet their pets

We are foster based so please contact us to arrange meeting any of our animals. Our dogs are spread out around the area in foster homes to help them relax, help us evaluate where they are in behaviors and to get them used to living in a home if they've not before.

More about this rescue

We are a small rescue that was founded after saving one dog. We bring most of our dogs from high kill shelters in other states, vet them, get the spayed or neutered and ready for adoption. We do this because we love dogs and we are not happy with the fact that so many healthy dogs are being killed. We can't change the world but we can change the life of some of these poor dogs!!
