My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hi, I’m Lacy. I’d love to meet you. Meeting new people and new animals is one of my favorite things. My favorite things also include resting on a couch, spending time with you, getting scritches, any sort of crunchy treat, and meal times. But my absolute favorite thing is walks! I love smelling all the smells and looking at all there is to look at. Just walking is pretty neat but if we see a new friend, that’s my favorite part. I really want to run but my foster mama says she doesn’t have enough “cardio”. It makes me really happy when we do short runs, I just wish I could do longer runs. I’m really good around dogs, cats, strangers, and strollers, but traffic makes me a little nervous still when I cross the busy streets. Foster mama has been giving me treats before and after crossing the busy streets, so I’m getting more brave and confident every day. I also take treats so gently you’ll hardly notice I took a treat from you. When foster mama goes to work she lets me hang out on the couch all day. I haven’t had an accident and I don’t mess with anything I’m not supposed to mess with, although I will eat the leftover cat food if the cats don’t finish their breakfast (I don’t push them out of the way though!). The resident cats are ok companions during the day, but I definitely miss my dog foster brother from my old house. If I could pick, I’d go to a house with another dog friend that way we can play! If you like to travel, I want to let you know that I am really good in cars, even long trips. And I handle hotel rooms like a pro. I am an excellent traveling companion, especially if you promise to get me a pupcup when you get your morning coffee. I’ve been through a lot in my past but I’m the best dog ever. My foster homes have helped me get a lot of confidence but I’m ready for my forever home now. If you come to meet me we can go on a walk together and I’ll show you how great I am on a leash while my foster mama tells you all about me. I’m looking forward to meeting you soon!

***Due to her history of escaping, Lacy will require a home that has a 6’ fence, and will do best in a setting with other animals to bond to. She will also need to be on bone and joint supplements for the rest of her life due to her leg.
Potential adopters will be required to do several meet and greets prior to adoption to ensure it's a perfect match - because after what she has been though, she deserves no less.
Because Lacy is such a special girl, in order to make the adoption process go as smoothly as possibly, LAWS is offering several one-on-one sessions with her existing training at Rockin’ E as a part of her adoption fee.

Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days.  Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.

**Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email lawsdogprogram@gmail.com**
