*STORY (please read entire listing):

Nectar was abandoned in an apartment for over a week before she was trapped and taken to the shelter. Once at the shelter, she was placed in the back area where she wasn't able to seen by potential adopters. She has had a rough few months recently and will really need a patient adopter to thrive in her new home.

This kitty will need a little extra time to adjust in her new home as she takes some time to adjust in new environments.

Personality/Likes/Dislikes
Nectar did not show any interest in toys for the first few weeks, but now that she has them figured out, she is always playing! Her favorite toy is the blue pompom that she tosses up in the air. She likes the tower tracks ball toy. She also likes to put her little stuffed mice into the water for swim time. She likes to be pet and will rub against her foster's hand for attention. She really enjoys to be pet on her head and by her tail. She can often be found snuggled up under her blankets. She isn't a big fan of being held yet, but may do so once she is more comfortable in her environment. She is more interested in sitting close to someone. She does not like being held or picked up yet but maybe would if she got more used to that.
She makes the cutest little chirps and meow sounds. Nectar does get overstimulated sometimes, and doesn't do well with loud sounds. She can sometimes show some signs of anxiety, being a little more stressed than some cats. That is why we are keeping her within a few hours of Cocoa, Florida and with someone who will work with her to help her adjust. She is a very sweet cat who seeks attention. She deserves the very best!

She will need extra time and patience to adjust in her new home.

Other Animals/Children
Nectar was around 2 other kitties in her first home. She would do best in an environment where she has lots of room and space to adjust to another kitty. She is scared of bigger, dominant male cats for the most part. She has done well with smaller kittens (male and female) and nondominant female cats while in our care here.
She has not been around dogs, but we think she would do fine with a calmer/cat friendly doggo. She has not been around kids, but we think she would be fine with older/calmer kids. Smaller, more active children would probably scare her a bit as she is startled by new noises.

Health Info
This kitty is spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. She tested negative for FIV/FELV.
