My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Despite his tough name, this dog is a puddle of mush. At 11 months, 65lbs, Brutus’ start to life was anything but pleasant. He was previously owned as a backyard dog, got his leg trapped in a fence, and was relinquished for euthanasia when it got severely infected. One leg amputation later, Brutus is good as new and ready for a family that values his companionship indoors.

Brutus, like many dogs that become tripods, doesn’t care that he has three legs. Life has given him lemons, and he’s enjoying nothing but lemonade (with maybe a dash of vodka here and there). Brutus is a happy, dopey, and affectionate boy. He does great with dogs, children, and holds no grudges against fences. He enjoys toys, playing with canine friends, lounging on the porch, and being told he’s a good boy. He’s still learning the ins and outs of his new body (like how to use the stairs), but nothing some additional time and patience can’t fix. To add three legs, a giant heart, and perfection to your home, please fill out an application at www.bounceanimalrescue.org.

Brutus is an 11-month-old mixed breed rescued from a high-kill shelter. This dog is current on vaccinations, microchipped, 4DX tested, and neutered. Brutus came to Bounce having recently had his front leg amputated (due to an old injury). He is learning to navigate the world on three legs and is still as happy as can be! This dog is also tested with other dogs, kennel-trained, and housebroken. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if it might be a good fit for your home.

The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals.

We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!)

Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed.

Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).

We will not be hosting adoption events on December 23 or December 30. Private adoption appointments will be available for the remainder of the year. Happy Holidays!

For additional questions regarding meeting this dog please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772, or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to a high volume of inquiries, calls and voicemails regarding adoption will not be returned.

Thank you for choosing adoption! If you would like more information on our organization please visit our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org.
