My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**CHIP HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Cheerful, charming, cuddly, and incredibly cute, Chip is searching for his forever family! Pal's Place rescued this sweet little lad from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. He is now in a loving foster home on Chicago's far southwest side, patiently waiting for his happily-ever-after. Chip was a stray, so not much is known of his background, but he is estimated to be between 8 and 12 months old, weighs 26 pounds, and appears to have some Beagle and possibly Terrier in his family tree. We anticipate a fully mature size of under 35 pounds, a perfect medium-sized pooch! Chip arrived at the shelter in October with a recently fractured rear leg. Strict cage rest for several weeks was recommended, and we are very happy to report that recent follow-up x-rays have revealed that his leg and bone have healed very well, and he is now ready for adoption! Chip is an easy-going, social, and happy fella who will fit in easily in most homes. He loves meeting new people and dogs, playing with his toys, hanging out with his canine foster siblings, and snuggling on the couch with his people. He's doing very well with his crate training and housebreaking in his foster home and has quickly adjusted to his foster family's schedule. Being a young dog with no prior training, any potential adopters should be prepared to take on some basic training (sit, stay, down, etc) to help Chip learn his basic doggie manners. He's extremely food-motivated, intelligent, and eager to please, so teaching him the basics should be a breeze! Chip will make one lucky household very happy. He's excited to meet you; submit your application today!
Chip is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm tested (neg). His adoption fee to the rescue is $375. Chip is in a foster home and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly, and if it has been 48 hours without a reply, please follow up with an email to ensure your application was received.

• Chip's adoption fee is $375. This fee helps to cover any necessary medical care to prepare him for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on adoption fees and donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation also helps save other dogs like Chip from euthanasia.

• Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application and put the dog's name in the subject line. Please check your spam/junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up there! We are a volunteer-run organization and do our best to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours.

• All of our dogs are in foster homes and can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an approved application has been received. To receive more info, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. Unfortunately, we cannot hold our adoptable dogs for any reason. Please do not apply until you are ready to adopt.
