Introducing Zucchini
This girl has had a challenging life. She ended up with Forget Me Not after renters moved away and left her behind, along with her semi-feral kitens Spaghetti and Butternut (also looking for a new home).
If you want a cat that demands respect, one that will be your partner should she approve of you, but never be considered a "pet," then Zucchini is for you! She will warm up to people in her own time, but really views we humans more as food-and-warmth-providers below her station. A little patience to let Zucchini blossom at her own pace, and you will find yourself one day with a "grumpy cat" who chooses to snooze on the couch while you watch TV. Then you'll wake up to her curled up in bed next to you, and you will feel like you've won the big lottery prize - "Zucchini APPROVES OF ME!!!"
We do not recommend dogs for Zucchini; perhaps she had some negative experiences with them when she was abandoned with her kittens.
This beautiful girl just needs a chance to be herself, with a calm and patient person who sees the beauty inside this strong and independent kitty.
NOTE: FOR THE REST OF 2023, A DONOR IS SPONSORING ADOPTION FEES FOR SELECTED PETS! This means any adoption payment from the adopter is optional and will be fully tax-deductible; if the adopter's donation is less than our normal adoption fee, the sponsor will make up the difference.
All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Zucchini is a suggested minimum of SPONSORED (pay what you like) (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.
Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
