My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This girl is looking for a calm and quiet house-hold, where she can continue to gain her confidence. Due to this, we do not feel she would be a suitable candidate for a home with children or dogs. However, she is use to the comfort and company of other cats and would do well in a home with another confident cat friendly kitty who can teach her the way to cat-life!

Andie shows a lot of interest in wand-toys. She loves to play! We will be sure to send you with her favorites!

Andie quite enjoys watching you move about and shows a lot of curiosity - but is apprehensive to touch. With time, trust and lots of treats - it is possible for Andie to accept the odd scritch or scratch. Until then, Andie's potential adopter must have a good understanding of feline-thresholds and be okay leaving her alone when she is in her safe-hideys.

If you are interested in bringing Andie home please out to the Abbotsford SPCA with any questions or fill out an online application!

More about this shelter

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
