MEET ARCHIE #8!!

MEET ARCHIE #8!! Archie is a high energy boy who loves to hike, loves snow, loves ice cubes and carrots. He gets frustrated when he is bored. He does not like birds and has a prey drive, so he needs to be monitored around cats and other small animals. He has been working on his manners around the cats he lives with however and is making great progress! He has made good friends with a Tortie and they play with each other when their humans are around to keep an eye on them. Archie is a mix of some hunting and herding breeds, so he is very smart and learns quickly. However, he is not an overly affectionate dog. He loves to play and be active, he is starting to ask more frequently for pets, but he is quite content to just relax near his humans after play or a hike. He does not like to be bothered while sleeping and does sleep in his pen away from the cats and any distractions. Archie is an overall good boy. He needs a strong human lead to be the best dog he can be. If he gets tired or overstimulated, he has the potential for a bite. He has bitten his owners in the past while very tired or while overstimulated. The owners have been working hard to get him on a good training/resting schedule and his behaviors have improved immensely. He has been bite free for several months now with the help of a great trainer. Most of his behaviors were because of deficiency in his humans training. Archie has been and is currently working with a trainer. The trainer has had no issues with Archie ever. (See attached email from the trainer in the pictures.) The trainer believes Archie is a pushy dog/bully and has been working with the owners to set boundaries and reign in the behaviors. The trainer is a familiar face and is willing to continue working with Archie. Owners attend group classes with other dogs that the trainer puts on every couple weeks and Archie loves them, he does really well during group. Archie would do well in an active home without children and a confident human lead.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives. Our Adoption Application is located on our website: www.underdogaz.com.

We also have a mandatory two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt trial period for all animals in order to be certain the pet is a good fit for your family.

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $200; puppies are $250.

Non-standard fees do sometimes apply. Puppies younger than six months may have a higher fee. Designer dogs, purebreds, and other toy type breeds may also have higher adoption fees than the standard $200.

We do, however, have discounted fees for dogs that are seniors, a pair of dogs adopted together, or cats. If you are a veteran or an active duty service member, please ask about our partnership with Pets For Patriots.

All Underdog pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.
