My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bob! Formally known as Troy.

Bob is doing great in foster right now! He is learning his manners and commands, but there is always room for improvement! He is very treat driven! He is doing very well with potty training and has had very minimal accidents since he figured out if he goes outside he gets yet another treat.

He is very well behaved outside when seeing people and other dogs. He is curious and wants to play and meet everyone. He is very good with kids, but we are working on boundaries with jumping. He absolutely loves to play rope, and is trying to figure out fetch currently. He would love a house with a large yard so he can run as much as he wants, or an active person who likes to run/walk with him. He does also like to lay down and ignore things too. He sleeps through the night with no accidents here. Currently he likes to sleep in bed with his foster mom, but also does well downstairs if he chooses to be there. He is doing well with crate training, and will go in with a treat and some assistance in getting in there. From what I can tell, he does well in the crate while I am not here. He is very submissive and will give you the cutest butt wiggly and submissive grin when greeting you, or anyone that he has met so far!

Bob would also do very well in a house with another dog as well to have as a playmate. Who wants a cute wiggly butt pittie named Bob or Bobby, Bobaroonie.

NOTES from Shelter Friends --

Per Staff 12/27: Bob was the helper dog for the entirety of playgroup today, He did a fabulous job greeting each new dog and matching their energy level when he was interacting with them.

Per Volunteer 12/18: Bob is such a social, wiggly, happy boy! He loves to get attention and allover pets, and will climb right into your lap for more cuddles. Bob met Maliyah and romped around together in the play yard. He is very social with other dogs and would likely thrive in a home with another playful dog. He responds well to vocal cues and is very treat motivated! Bob walks well on leash and loves to explore outside.

More about this shelter

The Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly) is the region’s largest animal care and control service provider. ACCT Philly is an independent, 501c3 nonprofit organization, contracted by the City of Philadelphia to provide animal control services. Our animal control officers provide service over 142.6 square miles to the city’s more than 1.5 million residents and ACCT Philly’s facility in North Philadelphia handles more than 17,000 of the city’s animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually.

In addition to animal control and sheltering, ACCT Philly is open 365 days a year for pet adoptions. ACCT Philly also supports a foster care program where community members provide temporary homes for sheltered animals and one of the (if not THE) most extensive rescue partnership program in the country where approved rescue partners accept ACCT Philly animals into their adoption programs. Under contract ACCT Philly’s Animal Control Officers provide animal control services and code enforcement. Other exciting ACCT Philly programs include a food pantry for low-income pet owners, a vibrant volunteer program, trap-neuter-return for community cats, a unique Pen Pal program to assist dogs at risk … and so much more!
