My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Pepper is an older man who has had a very hard time lately. He lived in a home where he was bullied by other cats and so he stopped using the litterbox. His owner brought him to the vet for testing and when the vet determined that there was nothing wrong medically and the problem was entirely behavioral, the owner decided to have Pepper euthanized. Thankfully, the vet knew that this behavior could be corrected and refused to euthanize. At that point, the owner contacted us to surrender him. To make matters worse for Pepper, the home he was living in had difficulty controlling fleas and Pepper regularly dealt with flea infestations. While this is a very uncomfortable situation for any cat, Pepper is allergic to fleas so he his skin breaks out in very itchy and painful sores in response to flea bites. The photos below show what he looked like upon arrival and what he looks like now.. He has had great care in a foster home and has been treated for fleas and the allergic reaction. His fur is growing back, he is much less itchy, and he uses the litterbox with no problem. He is looking for a home who will show him the love and care that he has always deserved. He would do well as an only cat or with calm, gentle cats. He is probably between 8-10 years old and will likely need a special diet to control his skin issues.
