My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This Rebel does have a cause and that cause is to be adopted by you so you can spoil her like the queen she is. Rebel loves to be around people but sometimes she doesn't know how big she is so she may be too much energy for small children. She isn't a fan of cats, so a feline free home is the best fit for her. While she may not like living with cats, she's still a hero as far as they're concerned. Rebel is a blood donor and has saved several lives with her donations. A true hero among us! She gets very excited when she meets dogs so any other dogs in the home would have to be able to match her energy. Are you into adventuring and exploring? Rebel sure is! Go hit the trails with this adventurous pup and get ready to see the world! On top of her stellar personality, she is a two-time blood donor! She has saved two other animals' lives with her gift! If you're looking for the best pooch in town, come meet Rebel today!

Additional adoption info

To adopt visit us at 1101 Western Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15233 during the Adoption Center Hours below.

Our adoption process is aimed at matching you, your family and your current pets with our animals for adoption. An adoption counselor (or volunteer) will introduce you to our animals in a private meeting room. We will share information about the animal's history and needs, behavior assessment and any volunteer / staff comments.

When you find the right pet for you and your family, the adoption counselor will assist you in completing the proper paperwork. This process includes signing an adoption contract, reviewing medical history and providing proper pet care information. This process takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

What you will need in order to adopt:

A valid PA state ID with your current address.

We recommend all members of the household meeting the animal before adopting.

If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dog(s) living in your household, it is recommended that all dogs meet each other at the shelter.

Certain animals require additional steps.

Adoption fee is accepted in cash or credit/debit card. Checks, American Express and Discover are not accepted as payment.
