Akira is a very sweet boy, he loves to play with other dogs and is very good with kids. He is a bit whiny when taking baths but once he is reassured everything is ok he will calm down and even let his owner file his nails calmly. He is not very comfy with being left alone inside or outside but luckily he knows his crate can be a safe place when his owner is absent. He is not sterilized or microchipped however; is up to date on vaccinations.

He might take a short while to get used to his new home but once he knows he is loved he going to be ready for all the attention and love he needs. He will love to walk and run outside. He will love to be surrounded by people who will pet him and maybe he might even let you snuggle up with him. Akira loves to help out in the yard mostly chewing on sticks and rocks that might look scary…won’t you let him protect you from scary sticks and rocks?

Some animals shown are rehoming courtesy posts for the current owners, and other animals are available for adoption through Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs).

All animals in the care of FRAs have their annual vaccinations, sterilization, FeLV/FIV test for cats, and a microchip. You must sign an adoption contract when adopting a pet through FRAs.

Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs) is a 501(c)(3) all volunteer non-profit organization. FRAs was founded in 2004 and started off with 4 volunteers that wanted to support the Rowlett Animal Shelter.

Our organization has grown to 400 volunteers supporting both the Rowlett Animal Shelter and the Garland Animal Shelter. With this growth now we are able to host multiple off-site adoption events, sponsor heartworm treatments program, operate our own cat rescue program, and so much more!
