My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I want you to meet Risa. This cutie is 6 years old and 11 lbs.  She is smaller than she looks, and 100 times cuter in person than she is in photos. Risa is housebroken, and will use the pee pad if needed. She is great with the other small dogs in her foster home and would prefer a playmate in her forever home. She is a mama dog, and can come on a little bossy at first meeting, but she will be a great companion for your little furbaby. She is also good with respectful children over 10 years old. She would prefer a home without cats, large dogs or small children. She must be fed separetly from other dogs, and does not know how to share bones with other dogs, so its important to give those separetly too. Risa came to us extremely pregnant, then gave birth to 5 puppies.  After raising her puppies, she had to also undergo heartworm treatment , so she has been through a lot, but she in now happy, healthy, any ready to find her forever home!! Please no out of state applications or apartments. Risa requires a home with securely fenced yard (I can not stress this enough).

All available dogs are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and given a broad spectrum dewormer .

Risa's adoption fee is $200. If you decide to apply for this or another animal, you can complete the application online here https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/570/generic We require that all dogs in the home be spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm prevention.

If you would like to email or call, you can reach us here: mustangshelterfriends@gmail.com or  405-578-4738 Facebook messenger @fomasok will usually get your the fastest response.
Our volunteers would love to talk to you about available pets, but please allow time for them to get back to you, they do this in their free time. Thank you for chosing to adopt!

A private meet and greet with a pet can also be scheduled after an application is submitted.

More about this rescue

Friends of the Mustang Animal Shelter (FOMAS) is a non-profit organization formed in 2013 to support the programs of the shelter.

Our organization is run by volunteers who work to prevent euthanasia at our city's shelter by providing vet care and finding homes for each animal at the shelter that is not reclaimed by their owners. All of our volunteers are unpaid, and all donations go to the care of the animals.

For information about volunteer opportunities, visit our website or send us a PM. http://fomas.webs.com/get-involved
