My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Between May 1st and 15th, part of my adoption fee is sponsored! Thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation's Empty the Shelters campaign, my new family can take me home for $50!

Meet Isaiah, the lovable pup with a heart full of joy! At just 2-years-old and 45lbs, this charming boy is on a mission to steal your heart and fill your life with laughter! With his unique spotted coat and expressive eyes, Isaiah is sure to turn heads and brighten every room he enters.

Isaiah is a playful soul who adores games of fetch, excelling at bringing the ball back, though it sometimes transforms into his second favorite game of tug-of-war! Daily walks are also a highlight of his day. However, when left to his own devices, Isaiah can keep himself entertained with toys. He even has a special blanket that he treasures and carries around the house.

Beyond his playful antics, Isaiah is a certified cuddle expert! Nothing makes his tail wag faster than snuggling up with his forever family on the couch or curling up in bed for a cozy night's sleep.

This sweet boy is potty trained when kept on a regular schedule, responding promptly to cues like "let's go outside and "go potty. He also does wonderfully in a crate, where he remains calm and content. He's made impressive strides with basic commands such as sit, down, paw, touch, stay, come, and leave it, and he's eager to showcase his skills to his future family. He's still diligently honing his leash skills and would love a family that can continue his training. While he still displays some puppy-like behaviors, his sharp mind, eagerness to please, and receptiveness to treats make him a delightful companion! Plus, his adorable obsession with ice cubes adds a charming quirk to his personality.

Isaiah thrives in an environment that offers daily activity to match his moderate energy levels. A home with a fenced in yard would be his dream, providing ample space for him to run, explore, and bask in the sun. While he adores people of all ages, including children, it's best for them to be steady on their feet, as his excitement may knock them over. Furthermore, after appropriate introductions, he treasures his canine companions just as much as his human ones and would be overjoyed to share his home with another playful dog, one who delights in toy-sharing and snuggle sessions as much as he does! Additionally, Isaiah has shown nothing but friendliness towards the feline friends he's encountered, suggesting he'd adapt well to a multi-pet household.

If you're looking for a playful, intelligent, and affectionate companion, Isaiah is the dog for you. Isaiah is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $275.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

More about this rescue

Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue, Inc., non-profit and no kill, aims to alleviate the suffering of abandoned shelter animals by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming them within our community.

We are proudly foster-based, meaning our animals live in homes, not shelters. This differentiates us and allows us to more thoroughly get to know our animals, ensuring they are matched with suitable, screened adoptive homes which meet our high standards.

As part of our commitment to the health and well-being of all of our animals and to reduce pet overpopulation in our community, every pet is spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are committed to ensuring the safety of our animals for their entire lifetimes so that they will never suffer abuse, neglect or abandonment again.
