My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If this sweet kid had a middle name, it would be Exuberant! In other words, he is a lover of life and all things fun, but especially you!

Ripley came to us via a service dog training program in North Carolina. Why? Because he was a little too exuberant for the work they do. We love exuberance for search dog training, so we said, send him on over. He showed great promise with his toy drive and hunt skills, but he did not pass our very strict medical screening due to irregularities in his elbows that showed up on his x-rays. Due to the high impact nature of the work we train our dogs for, he is not suitable for us, so he is now exuberantly looking for his next adventure!

He could prove to be very successful in a low-impact sport and/or detection career or he could delight a partner or family (older kids) with his charms.

About his charms…he has many! Not only is he as cute in Personality (note the capital ‘P”!) as he is in looks, but he has a zest for life and learning. He loves to play and indulge in his newfound world of TOYS! He’s a water dog too. He loves going in the tub and on the underwater treadmill. He seeks direction and is happy to do what is asked of him, even if that means turning on his ‘off’ switch (he has a nice one!) He is guaranteed to make you smile, whether you are working on a training lesson or just out for a walk.

He has a number of commands already under his belt due to his prior service dog training and would do well with someone who would like to maintain his manners while continuing to refine them. After all, he is a young pup, still figuring out where his legs go when he runs and where his true place in the world should be.

Could it be with you?
