DUE TO FEAR AND MISINFORMATION, DOGS THAT PHYSICALLY RESEMBLE PIT BULLS ARE BANNED IN ONTARIO. FRANKLIN IS LISTED AS A COURTESY LISTING TO THE ORGANIZATION TRYING TO REHOME HIM.
His caretakers have guessed his breed mix to be boxer x pit, while I'm guessing Black Mouth Cur x pit - either way he is a history unknown mixed breed dog.
We have recently agreed to help a non-profit organization out with some dogs in their care. This org does educational work and helps out owners in crisis. They end up with dogs in their care from time to time and do not have the resources to effectively find them homes. These dogs are not with us at the moment but on our wait list to come to Barlee's - we are accepting applications for them and will place them straight into foster care, or foster-to-adopt since there has been assessment of most of the dogs. FRANKLIN is one of these dogs, and our contact describes him below:

Meet Franklin, he a four year old boxer/ pit mix. Guessing about 45 pounds of pure muscle, He is completely vetted, heartworm free and on flea and tick prevention. He LOVES to chase the water from the hose. THE bottom picture show how focused he is on the water that is about to come out...
Franklin is caramel colored and very smart. I am uncertain on how he arrived at the vets, he is well cared for and loved. His caregivers have taught him sit, down and hug me :) I don't know how he feels about cats . He is looking for a young couple who enjoys being outdoors and mentally and physically exercising him. AS he is short haired, he will need a winter wardrobe as he is from the deep south .. Who knows, he might even do well with Frisbees."
