My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! My name is Prancer, and I'm here to share my story of resilience and love with you. Being a rare orange tabby girl, I've got these adorable large eyes that are as golden as my heart. I'm ready to find my forever family who will cherish me as much as I cherish them.
My journey began in a crate left at the rescue's gate, alongside my sister Vixen. It was a cold and scary start to life, but with each passing day, I've blossomed into the sweet and gentle girl you see today. At first, I was cautious and nervous, unsure of what the world had in store for me. But thanks to the love and care of my foster family, I've discovered that there's so much joy to be found in life.
I've become a delightful companion, melting hearts with my affectionate nature and playful spirit. I adore my foster family and their children, and I've even made friends with the dogs! I'm as easy-going as they come, spreading love and warmth wherever I go.
One of my favorite pastimes? Lounging in a cozy bed, soaking up the sun's rays and basking in the comfort of a loving home. Oh, and let's not forget about pets! I absolutely adore them, especially when I'm nestled in my favorite spot, receiving gentle strokes and ear scratches.
At around 8 months old, I've already had my spay surgery and I'm up to date on all my vaccines, so I'm ready to join your family and fill your home with purrs and joy. I can't wait to meet you at my foster home and show you just how much love I have to give.
IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.

Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as "Out of Town" pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport

We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
