My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Rufio
Nicknames: Roof. Doof. Floof. Bubba.
Current weight: 4 lbs.
Color: Tan
Sex: Male
Breed: Beats us! Most popular guesses are Silky Terrier/Maltese/Dust bunny
Age: ~8 weeks
Final Weight: On the smaller side
Do they shed: Can't say they don't...
Before OMD: Wendy (mom), her three, week-old babies, and an adult male (Mr. Smee) were found abandoned in an apartment. Both adults were severely matted, mom was extremely emaciated, but the three puppies were nursing and healthy. Animal control was alerted to the dogs and got them to the vet straight away, where we then took over their care when a foster family opened up their home.
The quick and dirty: These three have had the benefit of being with each other, and mom since birth. They are well-socialized, well-loved, and seem to have well-balanced temperaments from what we have seen so far. They are all outgoing, curious, playful, cuddly, and perfectly mischievous.
Vibes: Could win an award for best snuggler. He's sweet, gentle, and wants to please. His two requirements are food and compliments - feed him and tell him he's pretty. He's a (foster) mama's boy and wants all the attention and will ultimately become your shadow. Happy to wrestle and play with toys when cuddling isn't an option, and always interested in watching the other household foster dogs through the gates.
Dogs: Absolutely!
Cats: No official meetings but we can't imagine any issues.
Kids: Older, respectful kiddos who are mindful of their small size and puppy nipping.
Ideal Family: Any as long as they are ready for continued puppy training (yes, we are requiring training!) and socialization and endless amounts of cuddling.
Note: Wendy and Ms. Smee are not yet available for adoption but will be soon so please keep your eye out for their official bios!
We will not be adopting the puppies out together. Yes, they have fun together, but they are not bonded, littermate syndrome is a real thing, and we will not be making exceptions.
House-trained: Nope.
Crate-train: Nope. But their forever families should be prepared to start crate training right away.

They have age-appropriate vaccines and are microchipped. They are available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org.
