My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Stoney! Stoney is pretty much the coolest senior cat you'll ever meet. He's the most lax, unphased cat to probably ever exist. Stoney found himself at a high intake city shelter after only knowing one family his entire life, he had a timestamp over his head through no fault of his own and fortunately AAC stepped in and saved him.. that being said, visiting Stoney in the shelter you would have never known. He genuinely did not care. This sweet boy was eager to rub against, and yell at anyone who walked past him for pets and attention. He has been thriving in his foster home and we think he would do best in a quieter, calm environment where he's free to nap and manifest his inner grandpa. He loves snuggles, pets and treats and as long as he has a good nap spot he's pretty indifferent to most things going on. (Although every once in awhile he will stare people down very judgingly) He has what we can best describe as a "been there, done that" attitude and prefers to ignore most pet guests we do get so I think he would do well with other laid back animals who won't interrupt his strict beauty rest schedule. Stoney is an old soul with a heart of gold despite what's occurred in his life and we hope you'll consider making this amazing little senior man part of your family!

Additional adoption info

Prospective parents fill out a questionnaire, and then speak with an employee at our center. We try to match the families with an appropriate pet, and arrange a "meet and greet" with the family's other pets, if needed.
Our adoption fees vary, while we believe that all of out pets are awesome, we recognize that some breeds are more desirable than others, therefore, those fees may be higher, that gives us the resources to help our medical cases and promotes our harder to place pets. All pets come spayed/neutered, up to date vaccines and microchip.

More about this shelter

We save over 900 lives per year, uniting animals rescued from high kill shelters with families looking for their new best friend. We also operate a neighborhood food bank, providing food and supplies to local citizens who cannot provide for their pets, and would have to give them up without assistance. We operate entirely on donations and money raised in fundraisers, and we have been doing so for more than 30 years!
