Welcome Ginger to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 3-year old Dachshund/Beagle. She is good with other dogs. She has been in off-leash play groups with dogs bigger than she is and she does great. She is a hound and will scent off. She needs a fenced yard and not underground type fencing. She was playing games today when we were trying to leash her but she is a foodie and will work for treats. She has a nice sturdy long body. This will allow her to be a good walking companion. She would be best in a Ranch style home with fewer stairs. The longer body dogs do best if they don’t have to climb lots of stairs and keep their weight in check. She is healthy, vaccinated and spayed and is ready for her forever home. She is crated at the Rescue and she does fine in a crate. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. We would like someone familiar with the Doxie breed as we can see the Doxie personality in this little girl. Doxie’s bond deeply and usually pick one person in the family to be their person. We would expect her to do this in her new home as well. A smaller yard would be fine for this girl and only a moderately active family would be fine. She won’t need tons of exercise to be happy. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washingto, Portland(Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org/ See her cute video.
