Thane's start in this world was an unfair sequence of events for such a sweet pup. He was picked up by animal control with a broken pelvis and weighed in at just 28 lbs. We quickly scooped him up from animal control and got him to the vet. It was determined that Thane had been starved for a long time and should be around 50-55 lbs. It was also determined that there was not a lot we could do for the broken pelvis besides see what time did for the healing process. Fast forward a few months and Thane is up to 50 lbs, and doing awesome! His pelvis has healed in a way that he is not in pain even with a moderate level of exercise! He does have a cute lil swagger when he walks but is capable of walking, running, and jumping without pain! The orthopedic doctors recommendation is to continue to help Thane build his muscle and strength back up and no surgical intervention is recommended.
Through all of this, Thane has been nothing but a sweetheart. We think Thane is around 2-3 years old and was likely very isolated for this time; everything is new and scary to him but the good news is, he is a little trooper who is so brave to check out new things and quickly get past being worried about them!
Thane is beautifully crate trained, does excellent on a leash; when he is not too excited ;), takes treats very gently and gets along with other dogs, with proper intros. Thane LOVES to play with toys by throwing them around for himself and also loves to carry his toys around everywhere he goes. When he gets a new toy, he likes to carry it around while "ahrooroo" barking to make sure you know he has a cool new toy! Thane does enjoy walks and playtime but is also pretty chill and would be happy to be in a home where his mom or dad might need to be gone for work for a while so he can have his chill down time in his crate.
Thane is looking for a super special person to call his mom or dad; someone who will help him learn that this big world is full of kindness and yummy treats! His perky lil ears and perpetual puppy face are just irresistibly cute!

Interview
We take this time to talk about your home & what you are looking for as well as letting you know more about the animals we have in our care

Home Check
The home check is completed simultaneously with the virtual interview in a Zoom call.

Approve Application
Once your application is approved, the next step is to meet the pet!

Meet the Pet
You have the option at this point to pay a deposit of half the adoption donation to hold the pet until you can schedule a meeting.
6.
Sign Adoption Contract
We do all adoption contracts digitally and you will receive an esign document along with all the pets records.
7.
Pay Fee
Pay the full adoption fee or if a deposit was paid previously, then the second half is due at this time.

For dogs, we have a $360 adoption fee and all dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on all shots, wormed, microchipped, heart worm tested and on preventative before adoption. This also includes a one-hour virtual training with Lucky Dogs training to ensure a seamless transition for both you and your new pup!
For cats, we have a $150 adoption fee and all cats are spayed or neutered, up to date on all shots, wormed, microchipped, and feline leukemia tested before adoption.

Our rescue is a little different in the fact that we work very hard to be a “match maker” with potential homes. If it does not work out with the pet you applied for, we would love to help your family find the next right match! None of our animals are in a shelter environment but rather living with a foster family in a home environment. Additionally, all of our animals have a 30 day minimum stay in their foster home before we even list them as available for adoption. This is so we can make sure we know as much as we can about their behaviors, likes, dislikes, quirks and habits before we try and place them in a forever home.
