Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sunshine was found dumped in a park in South Brooklyn a few weeks ago frozen in fear. Now she is happily in a foster home and doing great.
Her foster mom says: Curious, energetic, playful, cautious and skittish. Sunshine was initially very scared and would hide all day for hours, but with some coaxing and treats, she started to slowly come out of her shell. She loves to play with just about anything she can get her paws on! Like bottle caps or hanging towels :) but she also loves cat toys, especially strings toys and the tiered ball spinner. She’s quite energetic too which felt surprising to me because when she was scared, she would hardly move for hours so it’s very heartening to see how much energy she has and how much she loves to play. She also loves jump up on the cat tree. She also makes that cute “mrrrph”sound while moving around.
She’s very curious about her surroundings and loves to sit by the window and watch what’s happening outside. She’s a big foodie and meows every morning for her breakfast. She is very food motivated which has been great for becoming her friend! She enjoys brushing and pets but she’s not comfortable with being approached.
She will come to you and rub against your leg but if you walk in her direction, she will run away. She also likes to follow us around the house from room to room so she is always around us but if we move in her direction, she runs. She is still working on trusting us although she has made immense progress! She usually finds a quiet, hidden, undisturbed spot to sleep but otherwise is always near us.
All cats and kittens are rescued from the streets, abandoned, or pulled from at-risk list at city shelter. All are vaccinated, tested for FIV and FELV, dewormed, and spayed/neutered (if old enough). If the kitten is not old enough to be spayed/neutered we will do so at a later date, post-adoption. All adoptions require an application and donation.
If interested in meeting and possibly adopting our cat or kitten please complete an adoption application (link below)
