My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cliff, the little survivor!

Cliff was on death's door when the stars aligned and he ended up at exactly the right place at exactly the right time: off a rural interstate in the path of an avid animal rescue volunteer on a road trip. When his now-foster mama spotted him, he was clinging to life, his ribs protruding from his tiny, battered body. His emotional wounds were as evident as the physical ones - he was so afraid and mistrusting of people that only the overwhelming temptation of food (a peanut butter Clif bar) convinced him to come to the safety of her arms. Not thinking twice, she scooped his sick, injured, emaciated, trembling little body into her car and got him to a vet. Unchipped with no one searching for him, he was accepted into rescue to begin his journey towards recovery...

and several months later... LOOK AT HIM NOW!

Cliff is now healed physically & emotionally, fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, heart worm negative, fecal clear, and very well socialized with friends of all shapes and sizes (humans, dogs, livestock - you name it!). While it's evident Cliff was never a beloved member of a family, Cliff is making great strides in training, so he would benefit from a consistent schedule and an adopter committed to continue working with him on his obedience. He is mostly potty, crate, leash, and off-leash trained, and has fully mastered the game of fetch!

Estimated to be only 1 year old, Cliff has a full life ahead of him to bury his past trauma under layers and layers of adventure and fun! Cliff's ideal adopter is active and outdoorsy with plenty of time to play and a heart big enough to continue showing him that people are kind. Are you that person? If so, apply today and ring in the new year with a best friend at your side.
