My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Polo’s family is heartbroken, but they had to give him up because he was fighting with the other cats in the home. He is a total lover. As soon as his owner comes through the door, Polo comes running to say hello. Even in the restroom he’s either at your feet purring and asking for pets or sitting on the counter asking for kisses. Sitting on the couch, he will turn his head against your lips asking for you to kiss his whole face. He also lets you pick him up and he’ll nuzzle against your chest while you give him head scratches. Polo can be shy at first, but once he trusts you, he’ll become your little shadow.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Applicants are first screened to ensure they are sincere in their desire to adopt a pet into their family. We require that all cats cannot be declawed and are kept indoors. All our animals are raised in loving foster homes which allows us to know their personalities and match them with the right owners. You can meet them by appointment. Our adoption/ donation fee covers spay/neuter, vaccinations and vet care. Kittens that are not fixed prior to adoption will get a $50 refund after submitting proof they were fixed.

More about this rescue

Southington Animal Rescue is organized by volunteers who rescue stray or abandoned animals, house them in temporary foster homes, and get them adopted. All animals are tested and checked by a veterinarian. By having our animals in loving foster homes we are able to really get to know each animals personality and make a good match with their owner. We also do TNR with feral cats, often in coordination with Friends of Cheshire Feral Cats.
