Meet: Turtle! She's not only the cutest, but the coolest, too. Turtle was a stray who was taken in by a good Samaritan while she was pregnant. Her babies have all found their forever homes, now it's Turtle's turn! She's a curious and outgoing cat who loves attention. She would be open to a home with resident pets already as long as she can have slow introductions! Turtle is just an all-around good gal; she's fun, affectionate, silly, and super sweet. More about this shelter

The Woodford Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal organization located in Versailles, Kentucky. We provide shelter and care to the homeless and unwanted animals in Woodford County, surrounding counties, as well as animals from other states. We care for pets of all breeds and ages, with no time limit on their stay, and we are proud to maintain an annual placement rate of over 95%.

With no government funding, we are completely dependent on private contributions to continue to provide care to around a thousand animals each year.

Adoption fees include spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations and deworming while at our Adoption Center, feline leukemia and FIV screening for cats, heartworm screening for dogs, a microchip with a lifetime registration, a free veterinary checkup, and a starter bag of food.
