My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our adorable blue-eyed sweetheart, Tex! This charming boy, just shy of 7 months old, is eagerly awaiting his forever family! Currently being fostered until he finds his perfect match, he's already mastered the art of potty training and kennel etiquette (sleeping a solid 10 hours!). With a repertoire of basic commands like sit, get it, and potty, he's a quick learner eagerly awaiting to add 'wait' and 'leave it' to his skill set! Living harmoniously with both large and small dogs, as well as feline friends, he's a true social butterfly. Plus, he adores his human siblings and thrives on their affection! Ideal for an active household, this pup loves to stay on the move! Whether it's playing with his beloved humans and canine companions, burning off energy with zoomies, or solving dog puzzles for meals, he's always up for an adventure. Yet, when it's time to unwind, there's nothing he enjoys more than snuggling up on your lap. Tex is believed to be a mix of Aussie and Blue Heeler, so his boundless energy and keen intellect make him a perfect candidate for agility training or scent work. If you're an active family with a yard or someone ready to take on the challenge of training him for his dream job, Tex is the ideal companion for you! If you're ready to welcome this lovable pup into your home, don't hesitate to apply today!

The adoption fee is $400.00, plus tax. The adoption fee covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.
Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other
dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you
when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.

*****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want to
meet this pet, please go to www.townandcountryhumanesociety.org and click Adopt.  Then scroll down to
Online Application and select Dog Application.   Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted
to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be
supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. If
you have a dog or dogs currently, a meet and greet with the dog is also required but can be done at the same
time.*****

More about this rescue

We are a no kill shelter operating in Sarpy County, Nebraska, a suburb of Omaha. We re-home dogs, cats and small critters. We work with dogs that are typically on "death row" and take in dogs from kill shelters in KS, TX, MO and elsewhere, as needed. Our cats usually come from kill shelters with an occasional owner surrender under special circumstances. Critters are found a variety of ways.

We also provide boarding and grooming services at very reasonable rates.
