Peanut Butter and 3 other dogs were surrendered to Yakima animal control. It is the shelters understanding that the owners were over their limit of dogs and not able to care and contain so many pets. These dogs are all under socialized and appear to have been living outside. They are not too sure about leashes but like treats and respond well to kind words and pets. Each dog is too large to share a kennel but it is likely that they would do better in homes that can provide them with K9 companionship. These young dogs need some TLC but they are already responding well to staff and soak up attention like sponges. We expect they will make the best family pets, rescued animals always do!

Our mission is to help you find a pet that meets your expectations and lifestyle. You’re invited to visit with a prospective pet in one of our "Meet N' Greet" rooms. We also offer "Meet N' Greets" for adopters wishing to introduce a current dog to a potential new playmate.

We are a private, nonprofit animal welfare organization proud to be serving the people and animals of Yakima County for over 100 years. We practice and promote the humane treatment of animals through animal control services, pet adoption, humane education, information, referral and quality animal care.
