My story

We received a call from Animal Control to confirm we weren't missing any Huskies from the NC sanctuary. Nope! Our guys are all accounted for. But this beauty was picked up running down the road very close by. The shelter contacted Roxy's owner who surrendered her, along with Luke to them.

So we went and got them both and they're now part of the H-E-A-R-T program. Roxy is young, approximately 10-12 months old, absolutely gorgeous long haired red, parti-eyed gal with a fabulous disposition. She thinks the sanctuary is pure heaven because she gets to play with all the other Huskies morning, noon and night. And she plays with everyone! All the dogs love her and she loves them. (If you don't have other dogs in the home, consider adopting her and Luke too!)

Roxy will need a family who can exercise her properly, has other playful dogs in the home and who has a fenced yard. We would recommend a home without small children since she's still learning her manners. She's just a puppy who likes to share her exuberant love! We do not know if she's cat friendly.

This beauty is spayed, heartworm negative and current on her vaccines. She is being fostered in NC but is available for adoption in CT, NY, NY, PA, DE, MD, VA, NC, SC. To be considered, please apply on our website. www.huskyrescueteam.org

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

We are a foster based rescue and do not have visiting hours.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit animal rescue organization. Our organization saves, rehabilitates, and rehomes Siberian Huskies (and other breeds of dogs) who are abandoned and are in kill shelters. We provide medical and behavioral services and rehome them to compatible families. We do this through volunteer efforts. Most of the dogs in need will come from the Southern States where the shelter kill rate is higher. We have a network of foster homes along the East Coast, while our adoption locations can be found in Maryland and New Jersey.
