My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nelson is 2.5 but at heart he is still a puppy. Nelson loves to run as fast as he can and toys are the way to his heart. Nelson is house trained and crate trained but would prefer a home where he doesn’t need to be in a crate often. Being in a crate for long reminds him of being in the shelter and causes him a great deal of anxiety.

Nelson is dog, cat, and kid friendly but he plays very rough so small dogs and kids might not appreciate it. Like most pit bull mixes, Nelson loves to play with his mouth which might be intimidating to friends that may not appreciate this type of play. He loves to jump and he is working on learning when this is appropriate.

Nelson is very active and would do well in a home with an active lifestyle. He would also do well in a home that is willing to work with him through his anxiety and focus on positive reinforcement and training.

More about this rescue

We started out fighting for our baby boy, Lucci, who was killed due to Airport Animal Emergi-Center Clinic's breed prejudice. When he was killed, we make a promise that no bully would be left behind. Now we try to save as many bullies as we can!
