My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Buddy! This 6 year old hunk of love is ready to be your new best friend.

Buddy isn’t very conscious of his size, and he’s not very graceful. He loves to explore and will consider walking into just about any space to see what’s up including, but not limited to: that tiny corner between the couch and the wall, the bathtub, the closet, and even the dishwasher. He has the attention span of a toddler with a sugar rush and is best described as a clumsy, benign Godzilla who cruises around accidentally crashing into things.

Don’t take that the wrong way- Buddy isn’t a master of destruction by any means. You can leave this good boy unsupervised and he isn’t going to eat your couch, your shoes, your electronics, or your kids’ homework. He’s just probably (definitely) going to walk into that floor lamp, trip on that amazon box, and maybe knock some things over.

While Buddy likes to stay busy, he’s not an energetic basket case who is going to exhaust you. He has plenty of pep, but he’s at his happiest by your side whether on an adventure or binge watching TV while curled up in the laundry basket trying to convince you he deserves some popcorn.

This boy is a 70lb heated blanket ready to snuggle all night long. He sleeps through the night and doesn’t even snore too loud!

Buddy is great with other dogs- he has excellent manners and is very respectful of his grumpy foster siblings when they tell him to go away (although disappointed). He’d love a dog friend to play with, but he does run out of steam pretty quick (or just gets distracted)!

Email Buddy’s foster mom at maria.anselmo@Montgomerycountymd.gov for more information on Buddy.

The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC), proudly operated by the Montgomery County Office of Animal Services, provides high-standard sheltering and care to the homeless, abused, and neglected animals in Montgomery County and ensures the safety and welfare of the county’s citizens.

The Center’s doors are open to all animals in need from: dogs and cats to farm animals, wildlife, and exotics. Through adoptions, spay and neuter assistance, vaccination clinics, education and outreach, the Center serves as a critical community resource to promote and advocate for responsible pet care. With community support and partnerships with other animal-welfare groups, our Foster, Rescue and Volunteer programs enhance and save the lives of even more homeless animals.
