My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Fluffy, and my life has been hard up until now. My original owners moved and abandoned me when they left. The next part of my life I found an elderly couple who would leave their door cracked open so I could have a warm place to go. They would feed me, but weren't able to pet me or give me much in the way of attention. Now I've made my way into a foster home at Murci's Mission and I'm hoping to find someone really special to spend the rest of my life with. I am estimated to be 8 years old.

It probably won't come as a surprise that I can be pretty shy and get spooked easily. Once I know you, I can be pretty mellow. I will hide and hiss when you try to pet me, but then I purr. I am scared of dogs, so I'd prefer a home without them. My ideal adopter would be someone who is very patient, someone who understands what my life was like and that I will take time to warm up and trust you. Someone without expectation of how quickly I will feel comfortable, that can give me space while I decompress.

I am spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and dewormed. My adoption fee is $50. I will come with a sample of my food and all of my medical records. Thank you for considering me!

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
