My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Watkins is a male (born 10/19/2023) Cavapoo (cavalier king charles/mini poodle) puppy who weighs around 3lbs. He came to us after being surrendered from a breeder. Watkins is considered a special needs puppy, as he was born with underdeveloped eyes, making him completely blind. In foster care, Watkins is working on housebreaking and crate training while adapting to living a normal home life, but that will need to continue with his new, forever home. He loves to be held and is very sweet! We would prefer that Watkins go to an experienced home with special needs dogs, ideally with another smaller, well behaved dog for company, cuddles and guidance. He is young and new to exposures in the world, so he currently does well with other dogs, cats and dog educated children, but they need to understand that he is little and not a toy! Watkins is a very young puppy and new adopters need to be aware that they will need to work with him for future success - we will be available to help give guidance and answer any questions or concerns as needed.
To meet Watkins please FIRST apply on our website for approval: https://www.theroadhomeanimalproject.org/companion-adoption-form-pdf.html
Watkins' adoption fee is $450, which includes his deworming, neuter at our vet (when of age), vaccines (which include DHLPPC, Lyme, Bordetella & Rabies) and microchip with lifetime registration. If you are out of area and the pup is too young to be neutered at time of adoption, adoption fee will be less, and you will be contracted to complete vetting with proof being provided to the rescue.
*Note: please DO NOT apply if you are unsure about adopting a puppy. Yes, they are adorable and fun, but they also require a lot of work and full commitment by all family members. Thank you!
***100% of adoption fees go back to the animals and help provide for medical care for our rescues that need specialized medical care and surgeries.
Please remember that we are a board of entirely volunteers that have full time jobs as well as our rescue passion. So, be patient with us and check out our Facebook page for more information and photo updates:
