My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello hello! My name is Mia and I am the girl of your dreams. At eight years old, I am well-versed in the ways of humans and doggos alike; I know exactly how to get all the pets and love from everyone I meet! After my daily walk, my true self comes out in the form of a couch potato. I am super friendly and affectionate but also understand the need for boundaries and space!

One of my secret talents is becoming a puppy again every time you throw the ball for me…or even just by showing me my leash so we can go on a walk! I look forward to all the new smells and new friends I see when we are exploring. I love attention from EVERYONE and actively seek out potential pals…and belly scratches. Since I am a lab, I am food motivated and will do just about anything you ask if there is something semi-edible in your hand.

In my spare time, I enjoy chewing on antlers and snoozing around the house…but I also enjoy ridding my yard of those pesky squirrels and deer! Some of my most favorite humans are the smallest ones - I am very tolerant of their funny ways of playing and talking to me. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? I am always willing to learn something new and exciting, but for now I can “sit’ “lay down” and “come” on command!

I am hoping to find a family who enjoys a leisurely, sniffy neighborhood stroll, can toss the ball for me a few times a day and give me all the belly scratches my heart desires! I am so eager to please and become your best friend - I just need a chance!
