My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our Christmas miracle Rose, who was saved by her own Christmas miracles while sedated on the euthanasia table. Those miracles - her newborn pups!
Rose was surrendered to a high kill shelter by a family who simply didn’t want her any longer. Forgotten and unclaimed, she was marked for euthanasia. In her most dire moment, already on the table with catheters placed and sedatives administered, ready to be euthanized, an unexpected miracle occurred.
As Rose lay there, teetering on the brink of the end, she went into labor. This incredible turn of events halted the procedure, and her life, along with her unborn puppies, was spared in those critical moments.
We contacted by the shelter and they wanted Rose and her puppies out immediately, even more heartbreaking was that she still had the needles in her veins when they dragged her out to our volunteers car. Now, Rose and her puppies are safe under our care, but this is where the hard work begins.
We urgently need your help to provide Rose and her newborn puppies with the care and nurturing they desperately require. Every donation will contribute to: Essential veterinary care and monitoring for Rose and her puppies. Nutritious food and supplements for their recovery, and a safe and comfortable environment for their rehabilitation.
We humbly ask you to consider making a donation, or simply spread the word about the great work CHBR is doing. Your generosity ensures that Rose, and many others like her, get every chance they deserve.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for always standing by us!

Adoption Policies / Adoption Process
Complete our application with the name of the dog you are applying for.

We will review all applications for each dog in order to make a decision about which home best suits the dog’s needs.
Applications are not considered in the order they are received; all applications will be considered in determining the best situation for each dog. Completing an adoption application is not a guarantee that you will receive the dog you are applying for, and CHBR reserves the right to reject any application as we see fit.
We will call the personal and veterinary references you listed on the application then contact you to schedule a home visit.
These checks are performed to ensure that you will be a responsible pet parent and that you will provide routine veterinary care for the dog as needed.
After successful completion of the home visit, you will schedule a time with the dog’s foster family to meet the foster dog.
Applicants are expected to travel to the foster family’s home to meet the foster dog. Please note this is an initial meeting to help determine if your family and the dog are a good match. Neither party is obligated to continue with the adoption, and you are not required to adopt the dog on the meeting. Either you or the foster family can call off the adoption for any reason. We hope, however, that it will be a good match and that day you’ll be able to go home with your new pet.

The adoption will be finalized with you signing the adoption contract and providing the adoption donation.
You will be provided medical records for the dog.
The dog will be fully vetted by the rescue as part of the adoption donation. This means all vaccinations, spayed/ neutered, HW tested, Tick Born Illness Tested and Micro chipped, wormed for parasites if needed.
Please remember that we do not have a facility or kennel where you can visit or meet our Boxers. All of our dogs are in the care of their loving foster homes. We can in NY, NJ, PA or New England.
