Hope is ready for her forever family! She has completed her heartworm treatment and will just need to be tested in 6 months to make shure they are all gone. She is up to date on everything. She is mostly housebroken. some of the meds she has been on during her recovery have caused her to be a little unpredictable but she knows outside is for potty. She ,ostly, relaxes in her bed but will occaisionally bark at a passer by or get a burst of zoomies in the yard. she is good with other dogs, kids & seniors. Don't lnow about cats.
Hope is senior dog, 29lbs, perhaps 6-8 years old picked up, nearly starved to death, December 28, 2023 from Guadalupe County. She was scheduled to be euthanized the following day. She is heartworm positive. She is not able to be vaccinated nor receive heartworm treatment untill she has put on some weight. We cannot yet determine a breed because she is so emaciated. She is not yet available for foster or adoption. Her road to recovery will be a long one.
Despite all this, Hope is sweet, gentle and loving. She is spayed. She is learning how to play again and right now loves rolling in the soft grass. She is so bony and her skin is so tight and thin, we must be careful that she doesnt accidently cut herself on a rock or stick. She wears a sweater while outside to protect her. you can donate to Hope's recovery through our website, trailsendtexas.org. or donate to our amazon wishlist https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2SGCWJHPW5ENL/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_2
