My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

In tennis, “love” is another way to say zero, but it’s also what our playful pup Billie is full of!

Billie is an energetic gal with a serious case of the snuggles! She’ll do just about anything for a tasty treat, especially peanut butter—she’s a big fan. She’s a clever dog who will learn tricks in exchange for treats, and she has a personality big enough to share with everyone. Billie’s foster says that she really knows how to read a room!

Billie can be nervous in new environments, so her ideal adopter would live in a quiet area and be patient as she warms up. She’s nervous around loud noises, though she recovers quickly. She is also not a fan of harsh weather—she’d much rather curl up on the couch with you!

  • Billie is looking for a home in a quiet, low-traffic area.
  • Billie would probably be a good fit for most families.
  • Billie needs to meet other dogs one-on-one first. Our staff would love to help make introductions!
  • Billie would benefit from an active adopter who can keep her busy with fun and exercise!
  • An Admissions and Placement Specialist can give you give you tips to help set Billie up for housetraining success.

In-person meet-and-greets are also sometimes available or required for specific animals. More about this shelter

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. Our organization was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans, and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and proud to boast more than 1 million supporters across the country.
