My name is Smokey!

Smokey is a beefy pit bull type guy who was found as a stray. We found out pretty quickly that he was actually dumped by someone who did not want him. It seems that he has been bounced around quite a few times. In spite of this he's still a friendly and happy guy. He loves to play fetch and frisbee. He's 4-5 years old and is already neutered. He's completely vet checked and chipped and his fee is $150.

We have put together a little of Smokey's backstory. He did live with other dogs here and there, BUT does prefer to be the only critter in the home. A quiet and somewhat calm home would be great for him. He would do best in an adult only home but teens are okay. He is a pretty heavy dog and is very strong. He would make a loyal companion for someone. He needs some work on his leash skills. Did we mention he's really strong.....?

NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
