My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Phoenix is currently in a foster home! If you are interested in meeting Phoenix please call his foster mom Donna to set up a meet and greet! 509-630-7277

UPDATE:Phoenix has made so much progress! He is happy to be out for a walk on leash, loves to play with other dogs, and is also very affectionate.
Phoenix is a very handsome young boy looking for a home with people who can help him build confidence so he feels secure in the world. He needs adopters that can work with him, understand that he is a puppy and still needs plenty of guidance, the right training, and be a big part of their life. Another dog in the home to mentor Phoenix and play with him would wonderful. Phoenix wants to please and make you proud of him!

More about this shelter

The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society was founded in 1967 by a group of determined women (private citizens) that recognized and wanted to care for lost, abandoned and stray animals in our community and provide them a chance for new homes.

The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society was incorporated on January 27, 1967. The group convinced the City of Wenatchee to allow them to take over the old city pound on Worthen Avenue and Animal Control in 1974. Because the conditions were overcrowded, Gwyneth and Bruce Mitchell donated orchard land and our current shelter was built and opened in 1976. Soon the Humane Society discovered we needed more dog kennels and added on to the building in 1980.

In June of 2003, the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society opened Club Pet Boarding & Grooming. Club Pet is a boarding and grooming facility owned and operated by the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. All revenues generated by Club Pet are used to support the Humane Society’s orphaned pets, on-going programs and future goals. Club Pet’s mission is to provide a fun, safe and caring environment for your owned pets while you are away.

Now for 2010 we are moving in the direction to build a new facility as we have outgrown our current shelter. We look forward to continuing to grow and help the animals that depend on us in our community.

The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society is a 501(c)3 organization, your donation(s) may be tax deductible. We are an independent shelter, meaning we receive no outside support or funding from other local or national organizations and that we rely on donations and support from our local community. If you would like to volunteer, donate or more information on how you can help us, please email wvhs@wenatcheehumane.org or call (509) 662-9577.
