My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Idaho, a charming Australian Cattle Dog mix with an affectionate personality. Idaho is currently accompanied by his dear brother, and they share a sweet and close bond. Initially shy, Idaho warms up quickly once he feels comfortable in his surroundings. His ideal home would be in a farm environment, where he can explore and thrive. Idaho brings a mix of playfulness and loyalty, making him a delightful addition to any loving home, especially one that appreciates the companionship of two inseparable canine siblings. And don't forget to notice his adorable feature - those ears that you just can't help but love!

More about this shelter

The Aberdeen Area Humane Society serves the northern South Dakota and southern North Dakota area. We are here in the interests of animal welfare. We place homeless animals into good homes as well as rescue animals from abusive situations. We have a shelter facility just southwest of Aberdeen and house many animals while we try to find them good homes. We are a non-profit organization and are funded by memberships, donations, fundraisers and adoptions.

If you suspect an animal is being mistreated and/or abused, contact us. We will investigate or refer to the appropriate agency. Your call can be kept confidential and we will handle the rest.
